Mike and Mindy Calabro have been known throughout Temecula Wine Country for years, as very gregarious promoters and supporters of all things "wine country". Meanwhile, Mike has spent many years as the primary wine maker at the notorious Wilson Creek Winery. In early 2008, when STW's all-time favorite winemaker, Barrett Bird, decided to retire his legendary Santa Margarita Winery (astablished 1974), the Calabros purchased the little facility at 33490 Madera de Playa in Temecula, as well as lease Barrett's long established Cabernet Vineyards in the adjacent hills. Now, the Calabros have turned their longstanding passion for local wines into their own endeavor, producing a small series of boutique wines and Temecula grown and produced gormet olive oil. All of their new releases are now available at their tasting facility in Old Town, shared with Temecula Hills Winery, on Main Street, just a half block east of Front Street. There are now six wine available, which we will be posting here very shortly, for purchase service orders.
